Designed to accommodate many different video standards, the board supports NTSC and PAL as well as other standards. Bixel timing is flexible, allowing for square and non-square pixel aspect ratios.

Video sources and destinations on the board are interconnected via a programmable routing matrix that allows many different processing configurations and topologies.

The Video Explorer 2 board has 3 Intelligent Paradigm Systolic Video Processing ICs. These flexible video-processing devices allow the board to be used for many standard video applications. This technology allows multiple streams (RBG, YUV, 4:2:2, 4:4:4, CCIR-601) to be combined in many ways. Standard applications include compositing and keying as well as video filtering and many other applications.
